Full Time Property Caretaker:
$65,000 salary + $800/month health insurance stipend + PTO
We’re looking for a skilled, dependable caretaker to help maintain this family-run lakefront property in Long Lake, NY. This is a full-time, year-round position that requires self-direction, accountability, and stamina — especially in summer when things get busy fast.

It’s not for everyone. You won’t have much flexibility during the core summer season — days are full, and guests need things done quickly and quietly. But if you’re handy, organized, and steady under pressure, this job offers something rare: a meaningful role in a place that’s quiet, real, and rewarding.
THE JOB
-
Full-time Property Caretaker for a 3.6-acre seasonal hospitality property
-
$65,000 salary + $800/month health insurance stipend
-
Paid time off in the form of two annual seasonal closures: 3 weeks in November + 2 weeks in April
-
Work schedule: 5 days per week, 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM, with after-hours availability for emergencies and repairs
-
Daily duties (in-season): light repairs, property upkeep, beach + dock setup, equipment maintenance, guest support
-
Off-season (Oct–May): deeper projects, repairs, improvements, and more personal schedule flexibility
-
You’ll work alongside a small, hands-on team including family owners
WHO THIS IS ACTUALLY FOR:

You’re someone who:

-
Can fix almost anything — and if not, you’ll figure it out
-
Doesn’t need to be told what to do, but knows how to check in and communicate
-
Can work hard all day without drama or hand-holding
-
Likes being outside more than being online
-
Understands that peak season (June–Sept) means less flexibility, but off-season is slower and more your own
THE TRADEOFFS & THE UPSIDE:

This is a real job in a remote Adirondack town. That means:
-
No quick runs to Home Depot. It’s 30–60 minutes to most stores.
-
Cell service is spotty. WiFi is great.
-
The nearest Target is over an hour away.
-
If you have kids, the school is small and personal — but limited in some ways too.
-
In-season work is intense. Off-season? It’s quiet, flexible, and satisfying.
But if you’re wired for this — if you like working with your hands, living close to nature, and being part of a no-BS team — you’ll thrive here.
