Built in the 1950s, the original Motel Long Lake is a little piece of Adirondack road-trip history — complete with parking at your door, screened porches out back and the lake just a few steps away.

Today, the motel offers two ways to stay: newly renovated rooms that bring its mid-century character back to life, and our comfortable classic rooms that preserve the simple, familiar feel of an Adirondack motel stay.

Newly Renovated Mid-Century Rooms
In the summer of 2026, we completed a full reimagining of four motel rooms, drawing inspiration from the era in which the motel was built: warm wood, playful color, vintage references and the easy optimism of the American road trip.

The result feels nostalgic without feeling dated — thoughtfully designed king and double rooms with modern comforts and screened patios made for slowing down at the end of the day. Each renovated room also includes its own propane fire pit, turning the patio into a private place to settle in after the sun goes down

Classic Double Rooms
Our classic motel rooms retain the easygoing character longtime guests remember. Each room includes two full-size beds, a private bathroom and the everyday conveniences needed for a comfortable lake stay.

Out back, every room opens onto its own screened porch overlooking the quiet bay behind the motel. It is a peaceful place for morning coffee, a card game after the beach or one last drink before calling it a night.
One pet-friendly classic room is available for guests traveling with their dog.

Follow the walkway down to our iconic wooden dock, spend the afternoon at the private beach or take one of our complimentary canoes or kayaks out onto Long Lake. Adirondack chairs, fire pits, hammocks and the shoreline are all waiting just beyond your room.
It is the convenience of a motel stay — with the lakefront experience of Motel Long Lake and Cottages.
The motel may have begun as a stop along the road, but once you arrive, the lake becomes part of the stay.
