winter CABINS in the Adirondacks

Is Long Lake the Adirondacks’
best-kept winter secret?
We think so! Long Lake offers everything you’d want from an Adirondack winter getaway, but with fewer crowds and more charm. The town comes alive with its annual Winter Carnival and seasonal events, while the lakefront setting puts you close to miles of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails. At the end of the day, you can return to one of our winter-ready cottages, settle in by the warmth of a fire, and enjoy the true small-town feel of life in nature.
Winter here isn’t just about quiet beauty - it’s also about adventure. Long Lake is a snowmobiling hub, connecting north toward Tupper Lake and south toward Newcomb with miles of well-groomed trails. Cross-country skiers and snowshoers will find plenty of paths winding through forests and over gentle hills, with Mt. Sabattis Recreation Area right in town offering accessible trails for all levels. The lake itself adds to the experience. Ice fishing is a favorite local tradition, with pike, perch, and trout waiting beneath the surface.
And then there are the little moments that make Long Lake special: fireworks lighting up a winter night, the sound of laughter around a community bonfire, or stepping outside to skies so clear you can see the Milky Way arching above the lake. It’s a different pace than the busier Adirondack towns - more peaceful, more personal, and perfect for those who want to truly feel winter in the mountains.

Our Winter Ready Cottages
When it’s time to leave summer sunshine and autumn’s bright leaves behind, most of our property hibernates for the season. But for those who love winter sports - or simply the quiet charm of a snow-covered woods - our select winterized cottages offer the perfect place to stay.
Surrounded by a blanket of snow, these cottages provide warmth, comfort, and all our usual amenities. Most include a wood or gas stove for cozy evenings by the fire, with wood available for purchase locally. We offer options for couples, families, and small groups, with cottages sized for 2–6 guests (1–3 bedrooms), and a few that are pet friendly.

Our two Adirondack great-camp–style cottages stand out in every season, and in winter they make a particularly inviting retreat, with spacious layouts and views that stretch across the frozen lake.
Whether you’re here for skiing, snowmobiling, or simply the hush of the forest in winter, our cottages give you a warm and welcoming base to return to.

All the Comforts of Home
Just like in every season, our winter-ready cottages come fully prepared for your stay. Fresh linens and towels are provided, and each kitchen is stocked with utensils, cookware, plates, glassware, and more.
Wifi reaches every building, and televisions are equipped with Rokus for access to a wide range of channels. Most cottages also feature a fireplace or wood stove, adding both warmth and a true Adirondack winter ambiance at the end of your day.
